December CCDCC Potluck & Meeting
December CCDCC Potluck w/Jessica Morse
This month we’re repeating our holiday potluck dinner. This will be a good time to visit with old friends, make new friends, and remind ourselves that we are a group actively working towards improving our community.
Jessica Morse will be our special guest! We hope you can all be there to let her know how much we appreciate what she has done for our Congressional District.
As part of our effort to help people driving a distance, the CCCDCC has decided that we’ll shift our start time to 5:30 during the winter phase of Daylight Savings time. It will change back to 6:30 in March 2019.
We’re also changing the location for the potluck. It’s a better location for serving a lot of food — and easier on the library’s meeting room. This year it will be held at Union Congregational Church in Angels Camp.
Union Congregational Church
1141 S Main St
Angels Camp CA 95222
Here is the secret for parking and ease of access to the church’s social hall. Turn up the hill on Raspberry Lane in downtown Angels, across from the bar on the corner. At the left turn at the top of the hill, turn sharply left onto Church Street. The parking lot is a gravel lot on your right. You can also park on Main Street or the downtown parking lot, but then you will climb many steps up to the social hall!
See you on the 11th!
For this* meeting, we’re also asking everyone that besides a dish to share, we’d like you to bring a guest (or more). Bring your friends and let them see that we’re a good group. Hopefully they’ll continue to come back for our future meetings.
We’ll have paper plates, plastic ware, glasses, and napkins. We’re asking that you bring a dish to share: an appetizer, salad, main dish, or dessert. We’re not specifying what you bring — just something you feel like eating. I was asked, “But what if everyone brings dessert?” — then we’ll have a lot of desserts to choose from. I do ask that you take a 3×5 card, write what the dish is, and note if there’s something of interest. i.e if it’s gluten free or vegetarian; if it contains something people might be allergic to.
I’m planning on bringing my white bean chili w/chicken. Plus fixings: chopped onion, tomatoes, cheese, sour cream, … And hopefully there will be dessert.
*Actually, you could bring a guest to every meeting.
