The Calaveras County Democratic Central Committee (CCDCC) is a legally chartered arm of the California Democratic Party.  One of 58 Central Committees in the State of California (one in each county), we are allocated 21 voting members per State Election Code, based upon the number of Democratic votes cast for Governor in the last election. Central Committee members participate in State Democratic politics by attending State Party Conventions as delegates, voting to endorse candidates for public office, participating on special purpose State-level committees, etc.

CCDCC Members are elected by the Committee as a whole to represent the five Supervisorial Districts in Calaveras County. Number of seats per District is based on Democratic votes for Governor in the last gubernatorial election. The CCDCC currently has 17 of our 21 seats filled.  We are actively seeking new Members to fill 4 additional seats, including one seat in District 4 and three seats in District 4.  Seats may be reallocated to other Districts if necessary due to unfilled vacancies.

As a regular voting member of the CCDCC, you will be expected to attend all monthly meetings, actively participate on at least one committee, participate in the California Democratic Party (CDP) Pre-endorsement Conference held prior to the CDP convention each even-numbered year, support Democratic candidates endorsed by the CDP and/or CCDCC, help raise money for the CDP and/or CCDCC, assist in communication and outreach efforts, and otherwise help lead the various programs and initiatives of the CCDCC.
