Jaron Brandon has announced his candidacy for the 4th State Senate District to unseat Democrat turned Republican, Marie Alavardo-Gill. The district includes the counties of Alpine, Amador, Calaveras, El Dorado, Inyo, Madera, Mariposa, Merced, Mono, Nevada, Placer, Stanislaus and Tuolumne.
Jaron, the current chair of the Tuolumne County Board of Supervisors, introduced himself at the March 2025 Calaveras Democrats meeting. He says he wants “to bring bold, rural-focused leadership to Sacramento” and “ensure that the voices of rural Californians are no longer left behind.”
